In 2012, just after Spoon's Britt Daniel started his supergroup Divine Fits, he announced another side project, called Split Single. The band features Daniel on bass and backing vocals, alongside frontman Jason Narducy (ex-Verbow, also of Bob Mould's band) and Superchunk/Mountain Goats drummer Jon Wurster. Following a few shared tracks, they've now announced a debut LP, Fragmented World, out April 1. That's the album trailer, below, featuring "Waiting for the Sun" with Daniel contributing backing vocals.Split Single will tour, including a stop at SXSW and a record release show at Schubas in Chicago on April 5. But according to a press release, the live touring band will feature Ben Troken (Reigning Sound) and Tim Remis backing up Narducy. In a press release, Daniel said, "I'm always wearing so many hats, so I loved the idea of being in a band where all I do is play bass on someone else’s stuff. I felt like a session musician, which was so cool. Still, I got pretty in depth: there were no preconceptions, which is what collaboration is all about."
