An electronic music festival that was shut down last year after drug overdoses killed two people is lobbying to return to Randalls Island this year, the Daily News reports.[related tag ="festival"] Organizers of the Electric Zoo are seeking a Parks Department permit to hold the event again over Labor Day weekend after last year's much-criticized festival saw one rape, 31 arrests, and six overdoses — two of them lethal. EZ Festivals LLC hired high-powered lobbyists to make their case, including Mike McKeon of Mercury Public Affairs, formerly associated with Mayor Bill de Blasio’s campaign.
