Arrests in Arlington: April 9-16 Patch Arlington, MA --

The following information comes from the Arlington Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

*Tuesday, April 16*

Timothy J. Hardy, 20, Sunnyside Avenue, Arlington, was arrested at about 11:52 p.m. Tuesday and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Hardy allegedly threw a cell phone and plastic trash can at a woman during an altercation that night.

Patrick C. Cronin, 35, of Inverness Road, Arlington, was arrested at about 1:39 a.m. Sunday on the Concord Turnpike and charged with operating under the influence (first offense), reckless operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, refusing to identify self, carrying a dangerous weapon and assault and battery on a police officer.

Cronin allegedly rear ended another vehicle at a high rate of speed and pushed it through the intersection of the Concord Turnpike and Park Avenue. He then became “extremely belligerent” toward the driver of the other vehicle and approached her in a “threatening manner,” she told police. At that time, several witnesses stepped in to help, she said. She was not injured.

Cronin had cuts to his face and head, a bloody nose and a swollen upper lip as a result of the crash, police said. When police began to question him, he allegedly swore at them and threatened to beat them up.

Cronin appeared to be drunk at the scene, according to police. He refused field sobriety and breath tests, police said.

Officers allegedly found brass knuckles, a small folding knife and a screwdriver on Cronin. Cronin allegedly spit on an officer.

Joshua T. Williams, of South Wabash Street, Chicago, was arrested at about 12:11 a.m. Wednesday and charged with assault and battery. Williams allegedly had an altercation with a woman that early morning/night.

*Tuesday, April 9*

Henock Daniel, 22, of Alewife Brook Parkway, Cambridge, was arrested at about 9:37 p.m. Tuesday on River Street and charged with failure to stop for a strop sign, failure to stop for police, operation of a motor vehicle with license revoked and possession with intent to distribute a Class D drug. Reported by Patch 8 hours ago.
