![Funeral of Daniel Spargo-Mabbs, teen who died after taking ecstasy, to be held today]()
This is Croydon -- THE FUNERAL of a teenager who died after taking ecstasy is to be held today. Daniel Spargo-Mabbs, 16, collapsed at a rave in east London on January 18 after taking the Class A drug for the first time, and died two days later. His funeral cortege is due to pass by his former school, Archbishop Tenison's in Selborne Road, at 10am today, before a private burial ceremony. His parents, Tim and Fiona Spargo-Mabbs, of Addiscombe, are setting up a foundation in their son's memory, to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs. In a statement on the website for the Daniel Spargo-Mabbs Foundation, the parents said: "We want to make sure we've done as much as we can to stop young adults thinking it's safe to experiment; to try a substance 'just once'."
