LCP Daniel Concannon recently received a heartwarming homecoming after serving his country last year.
Following his marine combat training, LCP Concannon was selected to attend special search dog school.
After completing his training he was deployed as a specialized search dog handler and assigned to the First Marine Special Operations Battalion in May 2012.
LCP Concannon was a part of many combat operations, and his team was engaged by enemy forces multiple times throughout the Summer and Fall.
He received the Marine Corps Combat Action Ribbon and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his efforts while serving as a member of the commando team.
Concannon greeted by his family and friends - including Shaileen Concannon, his mother, and Kevin Concannon, his father - on January 8 with a welcome-home celebration.
In addition Lindenhurst Mayor Tom Brennan, Deputy Presiding Officer, Suffolk County Legislature Wayne Horsley, Town of Babylon Supervisor Rich Schaffer, Town Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez, Town Clerk Carol Quirk and Town Receiver of Taxes Corinne DiSomma joined the homecoming celebration.
